Not bad... but not great either. Pretty good action but plot is kind of weak.

Wow! I am a sci-fi fan and this movie was fantastic. It was so sad. The similarities to apartheid was amazingly real. Do not expect a typical sci-fi flick and keep an open mind. You wont be disapointed.

I'm going to become a doco film maker now. My ceiling recently flooded and I caught it all on film. Really shaky hand held camera and boring as all hell...oh wait...that sounds too much like District 9....

Definitely different. From the setting - a real Soweto township - to the story line, this movie was far from fictional. I am not normally a fan of the sci-fi/alien genre, but I was suprised by how much I enjoyed District Nine. Not for the traditional crowd. Waiting now for the sequel!

OMG. I have never in my life (I'm 38) ever walked out of a movie. I can't believe Peter Jackson would admit to having any part of this film. The special effects were laughable (men clearly in rubber suits)and the story was so asinine (inter-species prostitution?!?) that my wife and I couldn't take another minute, and we normally like Sci-Fi. Save you money, run from the theatre faster than a fat kid on a smartie.

Reading the reviews I can see it is a split, you either loved it or hated it. The documentary style beginning can make you wonder what you are watching, but once the plot unfolds, you do see that this movie was cleverly done and is rather unique for an alien movie. I started off unsure, but did really like it by the end because it was different. Loved the main character and how he developed throughout the movie....
