Great movie! It's a frustrating but accurate account of how humans would deal with the introduction of an alien species. This is why alien phenomana is kept under wraps

Excellent, well done, and a far cry away from the "hollywood-ish" sci-fi's. I liked the cast of largely unknowns, and the different take the movie had on alien-human relations. Interesting, and a realistic look at how governments/humans would react to an alien race being discovered.

Worst movie I have seen in a long time. Worse than Escape from LA. I sat through this long boring piece of garbage hoping it would get better and IT DIDN'T, plus they would not give me a refund! I wish I could get two hours of my life back!

What makes this movie so special is the interactions between human and alien. The process of colonialism is demonstrated in various ways, such as assigning human names to the aliens, as well as having them live in a sub-human standard ghetto. This is not helped by the fact that they resemble insects, which further alienates them from the classic and expected humanoid figures of Star Trek fame. The fact that this happens in South Africa is also interesting, being that it's supposedly a post colonialist society. All in all, this is a realistic respresentation of what would likely happen if a large colony of extra-terrestrials was trapped on Earth. Sad but true, and quite revelatory of our prej

It was just ok. I expected more from Peter Jackson. Special effects were ok. Wait for it to come out on video, or go to your cheap theatre after its been out or a while. JK from Manitoba Canada
