I am a huge movie fan and I honestly thought that District 9 was one of the worst movies on the market. The themes were intriguing, but the execution was boring and offensive. I actually left after 40 minutes and asked for money back. AMC graciously gave me a refund. Crystalabell

The point of the movie is the best. Even if you dont like it look at the real meaning, it shows how others treat living things and how some take advantage of it, it really is sad at some parts, knowing that some try to help while others arent. Overall the point of the movie (and meaning) was incredible, really think about those poor countries with crime and no law, its reality.

Defiantly a must see for 2009. 4 1/2 stars is my rating, i enjoyed the storyline and it had a killer ending. Nothing was noticeably bad in the movie (personally) Its a more mature movie. If you bring your 4 year old kid to it they wouldnt understand much. So not a "family" movie.

You could fly a 747 jumbo through this plot. It is an insult to think that I was expected to buy this story. I'll leave out any spoilers but in synopsis the movie just made no sense. It was a story that had no point, no end, no real reason for happening. Huge dissipointment, I would not reccomend this to anyone with a brain.

The movie was entertaining. I did however get sick from the camera constantly moving around. Would not recommend.

I've seen this movie 3 times - all in all I've seen 2 people walk out. This movie is a refreshing, original piece of work - I loved the story, the special effects and the acting by Shalto Copley was brilliant. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, so were both of my teenage kids. By the way, to the person complaining about the'F' word being used too many times - yes, get over it. The movie is rated 14A for violence and pervasive language - if you don't want your kids to be exposed, then DON'T TAKE THEM.
