The scene between the Dean of the school played by Tracy Letts and Logan Lerman who plays the atheist Jewish college student in the 1950's is what makes this whole movie worth watching. Their trigger-fast repartee and how it ends is truly a gem. Contradictory morals and confusing ethics and some explicitly disturbing scenes for some viewers. The skewered human condition is what is depicted by Phillip Roth whose novel this is based on. And as an atheist, the final scene of his sending his thoughts/spirit to his girl ironically also is a contradiction.

This is normally NOT my type of movie. But, I was impressed. It's great how it all ties up at the end.. Watch out for the lead actor, he's the next Leo or Tom Hanks. He will be the 'everyman' actor who wins an Oscar.
