New kid Kevin Bacon arrives in a town that for some reason has banned music and dancing and the like. A constitutional challenge would take down such a law easily, but Kevin and his pals are poor or something, so they can't hire a lawyer. They have to dance and rock out instead and this seems to solve the problems. Even the inexperienced teens who have been banned from dancing now cut a rug like they have been trained by Bob Fosse. And Lori Singer's nutty character, who is in desperate need of commitment, seems cool at the end. It's all part of someone's rock 'n roll fantasy. It's ridiculously bad but it's got a good beat and you can dance to it.
