  This is a beautiful movie, lots of atmosphere, great landscapes, and a great mythical story. There is not much background given, but it’s basically simple: The Ochi feast on the human‘s sheep, and their bites are poisonous. Not quite clear though why William Dafoe assembles an army of juvenile "tin soldiers" to fight them. The relationship between his daughter and the baby Ochi is reminiscent of E.T., just beautiful in many ways. Then there is Emily Watson as the strange mother. The score is amazing though high-pitched at times, giving you goosebumps several times. Perfect!
