Jennifer Lawrence's performance as a Russian agent was excellent. Lawrence truly knows how to convey emotion. She is on point with that in all of her scenes. During her first assignment, a violent encounter, she is convincing as someone truly surprised by the unexpected turn of events and in fear that she might not make it through the ordeal. It shows on her character's face. I think Lawrence pulls off this scene, definitely. The end of the movie can make one look back and say, going from scene to scene, it was hard to tell which parts were true signs of emotional involvement on Lawrence's character's part with her American counterpart or just part of her work as a Sparrow. The ending reveals the answer if one pays attention. Mary Louise Parker performed excellent as someone with a drinking problem. Especially the scene when she realizes she made a huge mistake, her acting there is on point. You can actually see the realization come across her face and she is suddenly somewhat sober again. Joel Edgerton's performance as a caring field case officer was excellent. Like Lawrence's character, at times you have to wonder what is real and what is just part of his work. In other words, the line between sincerity and deception gets blurred in this movie. Jeremy Irons is an amazing actor. His performance in this movie was excellent. Seeing his name on the list of performers draws me to see that movie. He completely pulls off his character role. He is the center behind all the twists and turns and what everyone is trying to figure out or protect. I really like the resolve and refine gentlemanly attitude he shows in his final scene when he thinks his role as a double agent is up and a terrible death is coming to him. Irons' last scene is reminiscent of the last scene by Plummer in another recent movie. Pg 1

Some what boring of a spy movie. Sure you get to see some skin so what? Minimal action... rest is some what slow at times a bit confusing. Then ending is some what interesting but that is about it. Seen better spy movies with more action that would want to see again this Red Sparrow is a one time flick at best.
