National Theatre Live: Frankenstein ENCORE Synopsis
Directed by Academy AwardŽ-winner Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire), Frankenstein features Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary, Trainspotting) as Victor Frankenstein and Benedict Cumberbatch (Hamlet, BBC's Sherlock) as his creation. Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein's bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the increasingly desperate and vengeful Creature (performed in this version by Cumberbatch) determines to track down his creator (performed in this version by Miller) and strike a terrifying deal.
