In the Bolshoi Ballet's new staging of Le Corsaire, Petipa's original choreography is revived and refreshed by Alexei Ratmansky and Yuri Burlaka to breathe new life into the production.
The ballet follows Medora, a young Greek girl, and Conrad, a roguish pirate. When Medora is sold to Pasha by a slave dealer, Conrad declares his love for her and steals her away. He's caught and sentenced to death.
To save Conrad's life, Medora, who is in love with him, plots his escape.
