  This is a film that the script seems to have been written by a five year old. Adult professional should be able to do better. There are lots of great books out there that would make a good film. Why this?

  This movie is not meant to be a theatrical masterpiece. It's a movie adaptation of a game series known for having a convoluted story. The fact they were able to make anything sensible from the source material is nothing short of a miracle.
