  A classic! “Alien” was good, “Aliens” even better. Watch the 2-1/2 hour extended version which tells a lot more of the backstory than the theatrical cut. Several really great performances by the actors, Hicks and Hudson, the always great Jenette Goldstein as Vasquez, Lance Henricksen as the very human cyborg, and many others. Carrie Henn as Newt the little girl adding the human face among those tough soldiers. Great story, great acting, Stan Winston at his best in the aliens’ design. Overall, a perfect movie to watch over and over again!

  Aliens is in a class by itself as the greatest movie ever made in its genre. The outstanding story is a roller coaster of action and suspense. However, the quality doesn't end there with set design and special effects that have stood the test of time and look as modern today as they did then. Anyone who lacks the analytical ability to be able to perceive the achievement that this film represents in comparison to any other simply has to refer to the awards it garnered at the time against the competition before and after this masterpiece.

  It's unusual for a show this old to still be the best in its class but James Cameron makes epic original movies although this was the second installment in the franchise after Ridley Scott did a fine job on the first. However Aliens is still unequaled for its realistic set design, riveting drama and action. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Actress in a Leading Role, winning two for Best Effects, Visual Effects and Sound Effects Editing. James Cameron and his staff have a long list of other awards from this exceptional effort.

  If you look closely, you will see that the Halo game has taken a lot of ideas fromo this movie, for example, the Pillar of Autumn looks a lot like the ship, Johnson and his cigar and the marines leaving the ship, and the Pelicans. Has anyboby else thought this?

  this is truly one of the best movies of all time its got everything you could possiby want out of a sci-fi movie great acting, script, action, special effects , horrer, drama and best of all it has the best directer of all time. I higly recomend this movie

  I have to say that James Cameron's 'Aliens' is the best film I have ever seen. As I write my own screenplays, I use cameron's script as a template because the characterizations, the story structure, the setting, the emotions, and the ending are absolutely flawless in design - the unfolding drama is maximized past the limits of the audience's expectations. What a true masterpiece!
