The Duke of Burgundy Synopsis
Wealthy amateur lepidopterist Cynthia (Sidse Babett Knudsen) and her housekeeper Evelyn (Chiara D'Anna) have an intimate relationship that involves sadomasochism.
Cynthia takes part in BDSM in order to please her partner. She has to treat Evelyn like a sex slave and humiliate her during intimacy. Although it appears that Evelyn is Cynthia's sex slave, Evelyn is fact orchestrating the ritual. Cynthia would prefer to have a more conventional relationship, but Evelyn likes things the way they are.
