Laird Hamilton is recognized as one of the greatest big wave surfers in the world. After a childhood spent in Hawaii with his mother and stepfather, surfer Bill Hamilton, young Laird wound up with a role in the Universal Pictures feature film North Shore. He then landed a variety of modeling contracts before spending the rest of his life surfing.
Always ready to take on new physical challenges and push the limits of his technical inventiveness, Laird has brought about many innovations in crossover board sports. He has also become an international fitness icon and nutrition expert. This film takes a look at what drives Hamilton to push for greatness and the cost that comes with it.
