An intimate portrait of Ingrid Bergman, star of Casablanca, Autumn Sonata and Notorious, based on her own words, as well as memories from her children. Also included are the home movies and photos she collected compulsively throughout her life.
From her difficult childhood in Sweden (where she was left an orphan at a young age) to her extramarital affair with Roberto Rossellini (which caused a scandal at the time), emerges the path of an extraordinarily complex woman, whose relentless pursuit of happiness led her to try to combine an unhappy family life with her personal passions. Overall, an incredibly rich and tormented life, more surprising than that of most of the characters she had to play.
