Filmmaker Laurie Anderson weaves together childhood memories, video diaries, philosophical musings on data collection, surveillance culture and the afterlife, and heartfelt tributes to the artists, writers, musicians and thinkers who inspire her, as a tribute to her beloved terrier Lolabelle, who passed away in 2011 during a succession of family deaths that also included Anderson's mother, Mary Louise, and husband, famed singer/songwriter Lou Reed.
Fusing her own witty narration with original music compositions, hand-drawn animation, 8mm home movies and artwork, the film flows through subjects as diverse as family memories, surveillance, and Buddhist teachings.
